Locomotor Mini Ultra Slide Sheet

The Locomotor Mini Ultra Slide Sheet is ideal for patient turning or moving a patient up the bed to a sitting position. The Locomotor Mini Ultra Slide Sheet can be used for three basic patient handling tasks without the need to lift and without the risk of sheering to the patients skin.

The Locomotor Mini Ultra Slide Sheet is a fabric cylinder with a low friction inner surface allowing an individual to be repositioned without the need to lift and can also be used for a variety of repositioning tasks. The multidirectional glide of the fabric allows patient’s to be moved in any direction on the bed.

How to use the Locomotor Mini Ultra Slide Sheet

• Patient turning - Roll the patient onto the sheet ensuring that the hip and shoulder are over the slide sheet. To turn the patient, take hold of the top layer of the slide sheet close to the patient’s hip and shoulder and pull gently outwards and upwards. The patient will turn onto his/her side.Alternatively, slide the patient across the bed first and then roll the patient back into the middle of the bed.To remove the sheet, take hold of the bottom layer of the sheet and gently slide out from beneath the patient.
• Moving a patient up the bed - Roll the patient onto the sheet. If the patient can maintain a sitting position then the slide sheet should be placed under the hip and heel (if required). If the patient cannot sit then the sheet should be positioned under the shoulder and hip.Then using an approved manual handling technique, slide the patient up the bed.

How Do I Clean the Locomotor Slide Sheet?

The Locomotor slide sheets can be washed at 71°C or autoclaved. They may also be sterilised using sodium dichlorosocyanurate or sodium hypochlorite, and if so they should be wiped clean only and then rinsed with water.
